Each of us are capable of height far beyond anything we can imagine, but there are challenges in life that deter us from achieving it fully. DIVE deep into the root reasons why true flight often eludes us and the only way to change direction and trajectory is to draw near to the powerful, protective, and provisionary wings of GOD.

Throughout my devotionals and memoir, I will help readers identify deeply personal ways God reveals Himself to us. I will also share why seeking Him first is an acutely instinctive nature we've had since birth.

I AM

A CREATOR

Before God did anything else, He created. The expansive nature of Creation started with the Heavens and the Earth by the work of His hands. He shaped the formless, adding light to darkness, and it was GOOD.

The process of creating is therefore deeply engrained within us as a powerful reminder of where our capacity derives.

This is where the description surfaced: "author meets artist under the wings of God".

I imagine the essence of flight is just as aptly expressionistic with the movement of wings, angle of direction, and layered feathers in motion, all on full display. The burst of lift off creates wind movements that stretch to the other side of the world as a ripple... creation from wings, in sync with God.

A BELIEVER

Faith takes work. It takes assessing old wounds, being open to physical + spiritual therapy, identifying God's truth, and harnessing the power of flight tests over and over in specific areas that need attention.

Faith also takes letting go. It means placing your preferences into the hands of the Lord to reconcile that you are limited in knowing the way. It means resting in who He is and how He provides, even if the direction is unknown.

Believing takes work and release, on repeat, daily. When practiced consistently, belief becomes a part of who you are.

I AM

AN AUTHOR

The calling to become a writer nudged me at a very young age. I would write poems that seemingly came from nowhere, all pertaining to who God was.

I wasn't even raised in church. Yet, there He was, in my heart all along.

Birds are often messengers to the world through their songs, beautiful wingspans of possibilities, and carriers of new worlds rich with promise.

I am merely a bird singing His graciousness to all those willing to read. He wants you to open your eyes to His presence too. I was called to share devotionals and a memoir as an expression of faith because ultimately, bursts of faith are how we become capable of flight.

I AM

A FLIGHT EXPERIMENTOR

As a curious bird, I experiment with flight in a myriad of ways. Sometimes with a fearful leap into the unknown that ended in a painful crash. Other times I practiced short bursts of flight, as cautious as possible, building endurance. Then there were times that I simply trusted the wind to support my wings to carry me long distances and the sight was breathtaking.

Lifting upward is a daunting challenge, but birds rise to the occasion. Although nests and the ground are restful places, our hearts long to soar.

As an author and an artist, I practiced short and long bursts of flight to follow through with the calling God put on my heart. Whether I use a pencil to sketch, a pen to write, or a brush to paint... I am flying. These are the skies I was meant to share with you.
